Ripple Hat Kit

The wavy ribbing of Ripple mirrors the ever-changing sand patterns and textures of our North Atlantic tidal shores.
Designed by Uist-based knitter Linda Johnson, and inspired by the fresh maritime climate of the Outer Hebrides, the cozy aran weight of the Ripple Hat provides the perfect protection against any weather.
Knitted in Uist Wool aran weight yarn, there are a whole range of colour and fibre varieties to choose from. From the rich peaty brown of Calma, to the light fluffy natural white of Solas, with a great range of greys in between.
The kit contains pattern and 1 x 100g skein aran weight yarn.
This pattern can be knitted in the round, or on straight needles.

I have enjoyed making this beanie on my canal boat this week and am very pleased with the shape, fit and texture. It is lovely wool to work with. I bought the yarn on a visit to Uist this Autumn and the hat reminds me of the smells and sounds and memories of a beautiful area. I only required 54g for the hat so will be ordering more wool for hats for the family!
